Shelter: BC SPCA - East Kootenay Branch Animal ID: 385854 Birthdate: November 23, 2014 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Female Meet Malala; the strong and courageous kitty who's resiliency is inspired by her namesakes story. Through many hardships, she has grown to be a bit hesitant with new friends, but will be sure to reward your kindness and compassion with a little bit of love. Originally adopted from us when she was a youngster, after experiencing a rough start, Malala has since lived with just 1 family, but by no fault of her own, she has found herself back in shelter. Malala is a strong and independent woman who is searching for a home where she can be the one and only furry friend around. While she likes to soak up pets once she trusts you, she's also not afraid to use her top notch communication skills to let you know when she has had enough. She hopes her new family will start to understand her way of communicating and pick up on her signals to create a mutual understanding. This black beauty and her adorable little bump of a tail love wet food time and cuddles in bed more than anything. She is a lap cat and by lap cat we mean a chest layer who drools and kneads away, warming your heart and soul. Malala only has one real request, and that is for her beloved tree stump to follow her to her furever home and be a permanent part of her life, and yours. This stump has followed her everywhere, and while it's extra fun to sit and perch herself on, and scratch her claws into, it's also become a bit of a comfort tool. If you have room in your heart and your home for Malala and her tree stump, submit an application to adopt her today! In order to protect the health of our staff, volunteers and members of the public during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've made changes to our adoption process. 1. Submit an application: spca.bc.ca/adoption/application-forms/ 2. Staff will contact you to set-up an appointment to come in for a visit! Thank you for continuing to help animals find loving new homes! This enables us to keep caring for new animals at risk, even with limited staffing.
