The position will play an important role as part of the AFN Administrative team, with responsibility for managing the Nation's land and natural resources. Specifically, the Lands and Natural Resources Manager will be responsible for: Land Code Development Community Environmental Sustainability Planning Administration of lands, on reserve Applying for grants Filing of reports to funders and grantors Management of contractors to the Lands and Natural Resources Department Coordination of invasive plant treatments Supporting economic development Management of Forest Licences The Lands and Natural Resources Manager should have knowledge of: Ecosystems and ecological monitoring and management The potential impact of climate change to the region Environmental planning and management Fauna and flora Water rights In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful applicant will possess: professional credentials in a relevant field of study; experience with financial management and budgeting; proposal writing abilities; excellent communication and community relations skills; and experience dealing with government agencies, departments and the resource industry sector.
