Riley - Labrador Retriever Dog

Shelter: BC SPCA - East Kootenay Animal ID: 484349 Birthdate: April 02, 2018 - Adult Spayed/Neutered: Yes Male Riley is a one-year-old lab cross, who came to us as a stray. It took some time for Riley to feel comfortable enough to make human friends at the Branch. He is under socialized and presents fear-based aggression behaviors. Riley will need to go to an experienced home with no children. He will potentially need life-long controlled introductions and aggression management with strangers. Once you are in Riley's circle of trust, he is a giant snuggle bug. Riley's road to success will take time, and a lot of positive reinforcement training with a dedicated guardian. A lot of his manners are still very 'puppy' so he will need to work on those and perhaps some house training. That being said, he is already master of 'sit', 'lay', 'touch', and is very good walking on leash. Because Riley's needs are very specific, and he will require a dedicated behavior plan, we will be requiring multiple visits and discussions before we finalize his adoption.
