Please email your resume and tickets to: assistantba2300@cmaw.ca Scaffolder – Description Scaffold erectors are a type of carpenter that erects, plans, and builds the temporary work structures that provide other workers with safe, secure access to places they work. They may work on construction, offshore drilling, or oil sands sites, at power stations and or on special projects such as parade viewing platforms. Scaffold erectors can work in all sectors of the construction industry (residential, commercial, institutional, industrial). Experienced scaffold erectors may advance to supervisory or foreperson positions. W ith further training they may become scaffold inspectors. Scaffold builders must be organized and able to follow instructions carefully. They must be physically fit and have good manual dexterity to load and unload heavy materials on trucks and operate different machinery. In addition, scaffold builders should be detail-oriented to spot potentially dangerous conditions, such as nearby power lines. They also need good math skills for calculating measurements when building scaffolds. Pay $43.81 - $47.04 Schedule 8-hour shifts 10-hour shifts Benefits * Extended health care * Dental care * Vision care * Life insurance * Disability insurance * C ompany pension Eligibility Requirements * Good physical fitness * Positive attitude * W illingness to work in a team on a variety of jobsites * C ompletion of a recognized Scaffolding A pprenticeship program, or * Proof of 8500 hours to challenge the scaffolding certification Scaffolders perform some or all the following duties: * M easure, plan, layout, build, and dismantle scaffolding * Direct other workers in scaffolding duties * M eet with other trades and coordinate activities * Load, unload, and transport scaffolding gear to different jobsites or gear yards * Organise and clean gear for storage * C arry gear from storage to build locations * M easure and cut wood products to fit onto scaffolding C M A W Local 2300 – W ho we are C M A W Local 2300 is a local of the C onstruction M aintenance and A llied W orkers Union, B.
