Teaching Assistant

MOUNTAIN MONTESSORI EARLY LEARNING CENTRE Mountain Montessori Early Learning Centre is dedicated to the education of children in an environment designed to stimulate and develop the child's love of learning. We are currently looking for an ECE qualified Assistant. Job Description: The Early Childhood Classroom Assistant provides classroom assistance in education, guidance and supervision to children ages 2.5 -5. Works closely with the classroom teacher in supporting students' emotional, educational and physical challenges in one-on-one, small group, and whole classroom settings Presents circle times with age appropriate activities Develops and implements theme based activities Establishes a positive relationship with coworkers and families Forms small focus groups to engage children in arts and craft activities Promotes health and hygiene, to prevent the spread of illness, by following best practices for hand washing, food preparation and by implementing regular cleaning routines * Meets and greets parents in a professional manner * Performs other duties as necessary in the performance of the position and as assigned by the empoyer to ensure the smooth running of the Montessori program Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mountain Montessori policies and guidelines Maintains confidentiality on all matters relating to the affairs of Mountain Montessori Early Learning Centre Qualifications ECE Certification Childsafe First Aid Criminal Record Check Montessori experience is a plus but not required.
