Shelter: BC SPCA - East Kootenay Branch Animal ID: 511749 Birthdate: March 30, 2008 - Senior Spayed/Neutered: Yes Female Meet Ellie - a lovely 12-year-old pooch who is looking for her retirement home. Though she may be up there in age, Ellie firmly believes that age is just a number. She is a youthful gal that has an abundance of energy that she loves to use on walks and during play time. She has mastered fetch and has been working on her soccer skills in foster... you read that right, Ellie likes to play soccer! Ellie is the sweetest of the sweet loving every person that she meets and is fantastic with kids. She lives with cats without issue and enjoys the company of other dogs. Ellie will need some work on her leash manners as she can get quite excited and pull when out for walks, especially when she sees possible friends nearby. Ellies ideal home is one that will help her continue with her weight loss journey and will help her manage some stiffness in her legs. Because Ellie is a puppy at heart, she tends to have no "off switch" so her adopters will have to set some restrictions by not taking her on off-leash adventures, long hikes, or allowing enthusiastic play sessions with other canines. Instead she will benefit from controlled play sessions and numerous shorter walks throughout the day. Elie very much prefers to spend as much time as possible with people and can get a bit anxious when left alone so she is hoping for a family that has an abundance of time to spend with her! Ellie seems to have a strong aversion to using stairs so we are looking for a home where use of stairs is at a bare minimum (she will not walk up a flight of stairs). There is simply no end to how much we could gush about this wonderful lady.
